SCHOOL COMMUNITY - Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival 2021

The Loxton North School Riverland Harvest Festival and Great Stomp began in 1988, it was formed as a celebration for the end of the grape harvest. The popular "great stomp" became the main attraction of the night; teams of 3 people competed against each other to crush the grapes and fill their wine bottle the fastest. The Riverland Harvest Festival and Great Stomp is a great community event that has always been well attended.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we have made new exciting changes to ensure the tradition continues with common elements.

On Thursday 25th March we will hold our Harvest Festival Day during school time. Students will continue the tradition of harvesting the grapes, representing businesses/organisations and do the ‘Great Stomp’ on their behalf. Students will also have fun with face painting, donuts, sausage sizzle and more.

All proceeds will go to creating an amazing natural climbing structure which will feature a rope net, crows nest, ladders, planks and decking. This will promote a lot of imaginative play which is beneficial for children’s creativity and risk taking.

We would like to thank our 2021 sponsors for their support in our new "Harvest Festival" format.
